Assessing Impact
Assessing and driving impact
This digital strategy is about creating positive impacts for students and staff at the University of Lincoln. In Digital Services, we have defined what ‘good should look like’ over the next 3 years, our starting point and our approach to continuously monitoring progress to ensure we deliver and drive impact.
The targets we have set ourselves are ambitious and rightly so. Digital is one of three priorities in the University Strategy, and this provides a rare opportunity for all of us to push ourselves to co-design and deliver a lasting and much improved digital environment for students and staff.
We have organised our outcomes around three themes:
- Ensuring we have strong foundations
- Optimising current services where possible
- And where appropriate, transforming.
The current position as we publish our digital proposition towards the end of 2023 is summarised via the KPI Dashboard. The report card at the end of Year 1 is ‘decent’ but needs to be better in some areas, consistently good in all areas and we will learn more about the priority changes once we complete the student and staff surveys.
Digital Maturity Assessment
The key measure we have set ourselves over the next 3 years is our ability to shift the dial on our collective ‘digital maturity’ assessed against the six factors illustrated below.
In line with the digital expectations listed earlier in our digital proposition we built this assessment tool in house as an ‘MVP’ and asked for feedback this year as year 1 as a proof of concept for the approach and to give us a baseline starting position.
That baseline points to an average maturity level of 2 out of 5 with an ambition to move that average score to 4 out of 5 by 2025/26.
- Digital Maturity level
- Current (baseline): 2 out of 5
- Target by:
- 23/24 2.5
- 24/25 3
- 25/26 4
- 26/27 4 out of 5
